Scheduled - Network Support Services (NSS) will be applying a hotfix to the Firewalls located at the University System Office (USOPA/USOPB), Shared Services Center (SSCPA/SSCPB), and the Georgia Film Academy and Assembly Studios (GFAPA/GFAPB & GFAASPA/GFAASPB) sites, in order to address CVEs published by Palo Alto Networks.

Scheduled Maintenance will occur on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. until Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. The two GFA sites will start after 9:00 p.m. to avoid any potential conflicts with the sites' class schedules.

The affected firewalls are in high-availability pairs and will be upgraded one member of the pair at a time to avoid downtime. No outages or downtime are expected.

Scheduled - Network Support Services (NSS) will be updating several interface connections on the switches and firewalls in the Shared Services Center (SSC) network from 1 gigabit to 10 gigabit speed.

Redundant power supply units will also be added to each firewall (SSCPA & SSCPB) to enhance redundancy.

Scheduled Maintenance will begin Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. until Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at 7:00 a.m.

Firewall updates will be done sequentially to avoid downtime. As interface optics to services inside the network are changed, there will be brief outages to those services, primarily Data Domain services and DNS/NTP/DHCP services managed by the Bluecat device.

Resolved - Network Support Services (NSS) is reporting that service has been restored to all affected locations. Zayo is still awaiting a root cause from Planter Telephone. No further disruptions are expected.
