Maintenance Notification - SSC Firewall to Router Connections May 12, 2026 23:00 - May 13, 2026 07:00 EDT

Network Support Services (NSS) will be moving connections from the Palo Alto Firewalls to the USG Routers at the Shared Services Center, to upgrade them from 1gig to 10gig capacity.

This maintenance will occur on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 11:00 p.m. until Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 7:00 a.m.

Users and resources on the SSC network will not have access to the internet as the interfaces are moved. The exact length of downtime is unknown but should be brief unless problems requiring troubleshooting are encountered during the move.

PeachNet Scheduled Maintenance - USO LAN Switch Migration May 14, 2026 18:00 - May 15, 2026 03:00 EDT

Network Support Services (NSS) and Technology Support Solutions (TSS) will be migrating the wired network connections onto newer LAN switches at USO.

This maintenance will occur Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. until Wednesday, May 15, 2026, at 3:00 a.m.

IMPACT: Wired devices may briefly lose network connectivity while cables are being moved to the new switches. Endpoints may require a reboot to refresh DHCP.

Multi-Site DOE Outage - Comcast Last Mile

Update - Repair work is still in progress and technicians are not yet clear of the site. Crews remain on-site actively repairing damaged 216-count and 96-count fiber lines.

Identified - This is a large-area outage on the Comcast network. Engineers arrived on site at 2:00 p.m. and are troubleshooting to resolve it.

The underlying carrier has confirmed a fiber cut at 2505 Marietta Blvd in Atlanta, GA. The damage was caused by a third-party boring machine. At this time, fiber repair teams are actively on site assessing the situation and beginning restoration efforts.
