This includes Saturday during normal open hours.

Requests should be submitted by 3:00 p.m. Friday for use on Saturday.

Information Technology Services (ITS) will be conducting scheduled maintenance on the MyPassword site (mypassword.bor.usg.edu) on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 11:00 p.m. until Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 12:00 a.m. During this time, users will be unable to reset their passwords.

DWDM Firmware Upgrade Maintenance Dec 17, 23:00 - Dec 18, 03:00 EST
Communications Consulting Group (CCG) and Network Support Services (NSS) will be performing firmware upgrades on DWDM 10TCC cards on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 11:00 p.m. until Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 3:00 a.m. PN0191A/B and PN0129A/B/C are the only non-redundant services on the scheduled cards and therefore will experience an outage lasting approximately 30 minutes.

PN0129A/B/C from TELX to South Georgia State College - Waycross Campus for Alma Telephone Company

Communications Consulting Group (CCG) will be performing scheduled maintenance at South Georgia State College (SGA2) on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 11:00 p.m. until Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at 7:00 a.m.

During this maintenance, CCG will be relocating the PeachNet equipment at SGA2 to a different building as per campus' request. SGA2 will have an outage during this process.

Identified - Information Technology Services (ITS) has confirmed that an issue regarding Webex audio is being caused by an upgrade to modern view within Webex Meetings. As a workaround, affected users may set their preferences to allow Webex Audio for Meetings. Below are the steps:

1) From the Home screen choose the "Preferences" option from the left hand side menu option.

2) Then click on the Audio/Video tab from the top menu options.

3) Then choose the “Webex Audio” option from the drop down menu.

Identified - USG Cybersecurity received multiple reports of a suspicious email message sent to USO employees. This message has the subject line, “[[[IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION!!!]]]” and may appear to be from someone you know. The body of the message contains the following text:

"[[[Alisson L. Guth has shared OneDrive files with you. Click review below to view file.

Review File

Best Regards

Alisson Louise Guth

Department of Education

Washington, D.C. 20202]]]"


These email messages are not legitimate. Please do not open any attachments or click on any embedded link. They could be used to compromise your account credentials and allow intruders access to confidential information. If you receive a message having these characteristics, please delete the message.

Resolved - Information Technology Services (ITS) has confirmed that access has been restored to the 167.192.0.0/16 network. The issue was a GTA (Georgia Technology Authority) network configuration problem that GTA resolved.

Investigating - Information Technology Services (ITS) is currently investigating reports of an issue with DNS resolution related to the network 167.192.0.0/16 which encompasses a number of State of Georgia resources. Users may not have the ability to do a DNS lookup into that network . Organizations with known resources in that network include:

- Georgia Department of Education
- Georgia Department of Audits
- Georgia Department of Transportation

Identified - Information Technology Services (ITS) has confirmed that issues with Adobe licenses are being caused by a restructuring of Adobe's licensing structure. ITS technical staff has identified how to update your license for Adobe products. As a workaround, affected users may follow the steps below:

1 - Close all open Adobe products that are open on your computer.

2 - Find the Adobe Creative Cloud app on your computer. It will be in the Adobe folder in your Start Menu. If you don’t see it there, try typing “Adobe” into the search field on your taskbar. You should see ‘Adobe Creative Cloud’ listed along with all other Adobe products installed on your laptop. If it’s not in the search list, you can download it from here: https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/desktop-app.html

3 - When you open the Creative Cloud App, it will prompt you to log in. (If you are installing it from the link above you will may be required to log in before the installer runs.) Enter your USG email address in the user id field.

You will then be prompted with two account choices: Adobe ID or Enterprise ID. Choose Enterprise ID. Be sure to click on “Sign in with an Enterprise ID”. This will take you to a different login window. This will redirect you to the USG Single Sign-On page. Enter your regular USG credentials (user id & password). You will then receive a Duo prompt on your phone, so be sure to answer it before the page expires.

4 - Once you have logged into the Creative Cloud app, it will automatically start updating all of the Adobe products on your computer. This update will also re-license them. You can see the update progress if you click on the Apps tab in the Creative Cloud app and look at the black bar at the top of the window.

The NSS VPN, SSS VPN, and GOSA VPN should not experience any interruptions.

Scheduled - GeorgiaFIRST PeopleSoft Financials Update 5.40 is scheduled to be applied on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. until Monday, December 3, 2018 at 7:00 a.m. This Oracle annual maintenance includes Images 9.2.024 – 9.2.027 and PeopleTools upgrade 8.56.10, as well as new enhancements and functionality.

The following applications will not be available during this scheduled maintenance window:
* GeorgiaFIRST PeopleSoft Financials production (FPROD)
* PSQUEST access
* GeorgiaFIRST Marketplace access
* Expenses and ePro Self-Service Portal

In preparation for this release, your institution should take the following steps:
1. Communicate system downtime to your campus stakeholders (Banner, Department users, third-parties, etc.).
2. Communicate system downtime for Self-Service: GeorgiaFIRST Marketplace (Shoppers, Requesters and Buyers) and Travel & Expenses module.
3. Obtain Release 5.40 documentation as it becomes available from ITS (Job Aids, Business Processes, Known Issues, etc.).
4. Be prepared to complete all daily/month end transactional processing and have all users logged out of PeopleSoft Financials by 5:00 p.m. on November 29, 2018.

Information Technology Services (ITS) will provide an update on the GeorgiaFIRST Financials website as release documentation becomes available.
